Description

The 戦国 Sengoku knife is dedicated to the important figure of Oda Nobunaga,  whose we can find the Mon (family crest) of the Oda clan on the handle. He formally remained only the clan chief of the Oda family and the Daimyo of Owari, refusing any further titles offered to him. His rise to power was very turbulent and he spent his life in military campaigns that led him to conquer much of Japan. A skilled strategist, after subjugating the province of Mino province, he moved to his new castle in Inabayama which he renamed Gifu.
The name is taken from the legendary Mount Gi (Qi in Chinese) where started the conquest of China by the Zhou dynasty.
In this castle, he had a new seal forged that summarised his political program "Tenka Fubu" (天下布武), which literally means "one military insignia under the sky", thus indicating the leader's desire to unify Japan under his power. The blade is made of 3-layer SanMai SPG2 damask, a Japanese sintered super gold steel, cryogenically hardened. The handle's moulding offers an excellent grip which
the grip of the robust knife. It is also engraved with the Mon of the Oda clan and the ideograms of the name Oda Nobunaga are engraved on the handle. On the back there are the ideograms of the word Haou (lord, great feudal lord). The scabbard with belt loop is made of Cordura and leather.
